Terms of service
Written in plain English so a busy administrator or a parent can read it in one sitting. This is not legal advice, and Kinsent AI is not a law firm.
Last updated: October 18, 2026
The short version
- Kinsent AI explains AI tools and records family choices. Your district decides which tools to approve and owns its own decisions.
- We are not a law firm. Nothing on this site is legal advice. Kinsent AI does not certify anything and does not promise any outcome.
- We work hard to keep state rules and AI news current, but the landscape changes fast. We cannot promise any page is current, complete or free of error.
- Where the law allows, Kinsent AI is not responsible for policy changes, rule updates, tool changes, or decisions made using this site.
Kinsent AI wrote these terms itself. They have not been reviewed by legal counsel. If your district needs terms that match your policy, tell us and we will work from your documents.
Agreement to these terms
These terms govern your use of kinsentai.com and any Kinsent AI service. By using the site or the service you accept them. If you use Kinsent AI on behalf of a school district, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for that district.
If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the site or the service.
Kinsent AI is not a law firm
We are not lawyers and we do not provide legal advice. Nothing on this site is legal advice. That includes tool cards, state rule summaries, guides, checklists, conversation starters, FAQs, reports and anything our team sends you.
Using Kinsent AI does not create an attorney client relationship, and it does not replace advice from counsel your district already has. Bring your own questions to your own counsel.
We do not call an AI tool safe or risk free, and Kinsent AI does not approve tools. Each district decides which tools it approves, what its policy says, and how it meets its own obligations.
The information we publish, and its limits
We do our best to bring you the most up to date news: we read official state records, we separate enacted laws from board rules and pending proposals, and we show the source and the date we last checked each state.
The AI landscape changes quickly. Rules are amended, deadlines move, guidance is revised, new laws pass, and court decisions arrive. We cannot promise that any page is current, complete, accurate or free of error at the moment you read it. A date shown as a deadline may change after we publish it.
Please confirm anything important against the official state or district source before you act on it. You are responsible for the decisions you make and for the rules that apply to you.
Service changes, updates and availability
We keep improving the product. Features may be added, changed, moved or removed, including how cards look, how reports are laid out, and how the district portal is organized.
We do not promise uninterrupted or error free access, and we do not promise that any feature will stay as it is today. Where a signed district agreement covers availability or notice of changes, that agreement governs.
Changes to a state's rules, to a district's own settings, to a school year calendar, or to a third party AI tool can affect what a district sees or is able to do. Where the law allows, we are not liable for those changes or for any loss that follows them.
Limitation of liability
The site and the information on it are provided as they are and as they are available, without promises of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Where the law allows, Kinsent AI is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost or inaccurate records, business interruption, or decisions made using this site. That includes loss or harm arising from:
- A state, school board or agency changing a law, rule, policy, deadline or guidance.
- Information on this site being out of date, incomplete, or wrong.
- A third party AI tool changing its terms, privacy practices, pricing, features, or availability.
- A district approving, removing, or describing a tool, or a teacher completing a class use form.
- A family choice, a record, or a report, including a choice that is later changed.
- A missed deadline, a filing, an audit, a board question, or a public records request.
Where the law limits this, Kinsent AI's total liability for a claim is capped at the amount paid to Kinsent AI for the service in the twelve months before the event that caused the claim.
Some places do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
What you agree to do
Districts: you own your AI policy and your approved tool list, you sign off on the cards your families see, you sign a data privacy agreement before student data is collected, and you send family links through the channel you already use. Keep your staff accounts secure and tell us when a staff member leaves.
- Use your own family link and do not share it. Only one family link per household.
- Do not copy, scrape or bulk download our content, cards, data or design.
- Do not reverse engineer, disable, or interfere with the service or its security.
- Do not upload student names or student data outside a flow your district has agreed to.
- Do not use the service to harm anyone, to try to identify a person, or to break the law.
- Give accurate information when you contact us or request a demo.
Third party tools and links
Our cards explain AI tools made by other companies. We do not build them, own them, or control them. A card is our plain English explanation as of the date shown on it, not a promise from the vendor and not our approval of the tool.
Vendors change their products, terms, privacy practices and pricing without notice to us. We are not responsible for what a third party does, for their websites, or for any loss that follows their changes.
Privacy and student data
Our privacy policy and our data protection page explain what we collect and what we commit to before any student data is collected. Student data is handled only under a signed data privacy agreement.
We do not collect student names on this site. Newsletter sign ups are kept with consent, and you can ask us to remove a newsletter email at any time.
Your content and your feedback
You keep what you submit. You give us permission to host, store, display and share it only as needed to run the service for you and your district.
If you send us ideas or feedback about Kinsent AI, we may use them without owing you anything in return.
Accounts, suspension and ending access
District accounts are created by invitation. Keep your sign in details private and tell us right away if you believe someone else has used them.
We may limit, suspend, or end access if these terms are broken, if records or families could be put at risk, or when a district asks us to. You can stop using the site at any time. Sections that should stay in place after access ends, such as liability and ownership, do stay in place.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service and the law change. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and we aim to tell signed districts in advance of material changes.
Continuing to use the site after an update means the updated terms apply to you.
Which rules come first
A signed agreement between your district and Kinsent AI, such as a data privacy agreement or a district service agreement, takes precedence over these terms for that district. If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still stands.
