Data protection
Your students' names never leave your district.
We keep the smallest possible record: enough to show what a family chose, and nothing more.
What we store
- A random Kinsent ID (only your district knows the student)
- The AI tool
- The family's choice
- The date
- A record of who changed it
What we never store
- Student names
- Parent names, emails, or phone numbers
- Grades
- Health or special education information
- Photos
- Anything a student types into an AI tool
Our commitments
What we promise before any student data is collected
- A signed data privacy agreement comes first.
- Student data will be stored in the United States only.
- Encrypted in transit and at rest, with two-step login for Kinsent staff.
- Never sold, never used for ads, never used to train AI.
- Deleted on the schedule in your agreement when you leave.
- Prompt notice if there is ever a breach.
- Export your records anytime.
These are the commitments Kinsent AI will meet before any student data is collected. Your signed data privacy agreement governs.
For your IT and legal teams
Before any student data is shared
- We will sign your state's student data privacy agreement, including agreements through the Student Data Privacy Consortium.
- Family cards will be available in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole, with more languages added for the families your district serves.
- We are building Kinsent AI to the WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standard.
- We will complete your security questionnaire before any student data is shared.
