Kin plus consent. Families know first.

The name says it all: the adults who love your student, whether parent, guardian or grandparent, get a say in the tools your student uses.

About Kinsent AI

Why Kinsent AI was founded

Kinsent AI was founded by Dominica Lumazar, an AI governance professional, #1 international bestselling author and creator of Mom Knows AI, and a mother of two. She founded Kinsent AI as classroom AI tools began reaching schools faster than families could learn what they do. No district should have to build those explanations from scratch, and no family should have to become a technology expert to understand what their student is using at school.

Kinsent AI is built on one deep belief: the parents and guardians who love a student should have a say in the access that student has to AI. Families deserve to understand AI before their students use it, and should have the right to decide whether their student interacts with it, or not. And it should be simple for districts to inform families with just a few clicks, so everyone is on the same page.

The belief behind the product

Three things have to be true

Understand it first

Every tool gets a plain-English card before a student touches it. What it does, its purpose and the place it serves in the classroom, what it asks for, and what it can see.

Decide before it is used

Families choose Yes or Not yet per tool. Nothing happens until the family answers, and the answer can change later.

Keep a record that holds up

Your district keeps who approved what, when, and under which policy version. Exports are ready when a parent, a board member, or the state asks.

Experience behind the platform

Explaining AI to families

Mom Knows AI comes from the same work Kinsent AI does every day: turning a confusing tool into a short explanation a parent can act on.

Both sides of the table

Built from direct work alongside parents keeping up with classroom technology and district teams documenting all of it. Kinsent AI is designed to serve both.

Clear limits

Kinsent AI explains tools and records choices. Your district decides which tools to approve and owns its policy and its compliance.

Working with districts

From policy to parent answer

Kinsent AI is not software your district has to navigate alone. Our team works directly with yours, from the initial policy walkthrough to the first family response.

  1. 1

    Walk your policy

We review your current AI policy and the tools already in use, then agree on what families need to see.

  2. 2

    Build the tool list

Your approved tools become short family cards, each tied to your policy version and your privacy agreement.

  3. 3

    Send to families

Your district sends the links. Families answer Yes or Not yet. Teachers see who is approved.

  4. 4

    Keep the record

Answers, timestamps, and policy versions stay in your district dashboard, ready to export.

What Kinsent AI does not do

  • Kinsent AI does not approve your tools. Your district decides which tools families are asked about.
  • Kinsent AI does not decide policy for you, and does not certify your district or promise an outcome.
  • Kinsent AI never receives student names. Kinsent generates anonymous IDs and districts attach them to students on their side, under a signed agreement.
  • Nothing here is legal advice. Your district owns its policy and its compliance.

Our mission

Understand it first. Help every family understand the AI tools their students use at school, before they use them, including each tool's purpose and the place it serves in the classroom. Help every district keep a clear record of what families chose. Kinsent AI explains tools, records choices, and makes it simple for districts to inform families with just a few clicks, so everyone is on the same page. Each district decides which tools to approve.
